Oh, sheet! Thief makes off with bedclothes

The Whitefish Police Department received a report that someone stole $14,000 in sheets and pillow cases from a U.S. 93 South location. That’s either a whole lot of bedding or a few really silky sets.

A car reportedly blew through a stop sign on West Fifth Street while a parent and child were on the crosswalk.


The vibes were too heady for a man who reportedly passed out in a van that was sitting in his Rapids Avenue driveway. The caller told the Columbia Falls Police Department that the area “reeked” of marijuana, and this happens every morning. This particular call came in at 8:25 a.m.


The Montana Highway Patrol reported an accident involving one vehicle on Montana 35 near Evergreen. Traffic was reduced to one lane for a while.


A Saint Andrews Drive resident captured a “75-pound pot-bellied pig.” It was a delicious opportunity, but the good citizen called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and the pig’s owner was contacted.

Deputies were unable to locate a person reportedly smoking a bong while driving northbound in a Subaru.

While selling dogs, a Rufenach Lane woman was talking to a Spokane resident. The woman grew concerned as the man became “increasingly aggressive” and sent money. The woman returned the money via registered mail and called the Sheriff’s Office to mediate.

A Columbia Falls-area woman received a call, and the person said she had won money. Before “realizing it was a scam,” the woman gave up her bank and Social Security information.

Another Columbia Falls-area resident, from another part of town, alerted the Sheriff’s Office that she had given her Social Security number out to a phone scammer.

A deputy pulled over a man on Sunny View Lane who happened to have three warrants in Kalispell. He was taken to the county detention center.
