Four C-Falls players named all-state
Columbia Falls had four players named all-state in Class A basketball after successful campaigns this season that saw both the boys and girls teams finish third at state.
Senior guard Ty Morgan and junior forward Grant Wallace were named to the boys all-state team, along with Frenchtown senior forward Bridger Truett.
Morgan averaged 18 points per game, the fifth highest mark in the state. Wallace averaged 12.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while leading the Wildcats in the post.
Columbia Falls also saw senior guard Jayce Fagerland named to the first all-conference team and senior forward Grant Stenger to the second team. Senior guard Trevor Houston was an honorable mention.
Polson’s Matthew Rensvold was a first team selection for all conference, with Tanner Wilson and Andrew Curley named to the second team and Payton Lefthand honorable mention. Whitefish’s Cody Olson and AJ Wetsch were second teamers with Bulldogs junior Brian FauntLeRoy earning an honorable mention nod. Libby’s Collin Johnson was also honorable mention.
Wildkats seniors Ciera Finberg and Winter Kemppainen led all-state honors on the girls side along with Frenchtown senior forward Lacey Hochhalter.
Finberg, a point guard that led the aggressive Columbia Falls offense, averaged 12.8 points per game. Kemppainen was a force for the Wildkats in the post, averaging 10.6 points and 8 rebounds per game.
Wildkats guards Cydney Finberg and Ellie Johnson were also selected to the first all-conference team, with Peyton Kehr and Kiara Burlage on the second team and Sydney Grilley honorable mention.
Libby’s Shyla Stevenson was a first team pick and Hailey Craig a second team choice for the Loggers. Polson’s Nichole Lake was a second teamer and Whitefish’s Dani Douglas was honorable mention.
