COLUMBIA FALLS — Senior pitcher Ashley Trueblood gave up just two runs in five innings of work, but her bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fourth proved to be the winning runs as the Wildkats held off the Ronan Maidens for a 5-4 nonconference victory on Thursday.

Carlee Brown and Katie Price both reach base in the fourth before Trueblood’s blast drove them in. Trueblood finished 2 for 3 at the plate as did teammate Madi Fetters.

“Ashley had a key double. It was a great hit by her which got us the five runs, and then we held them off for the win,” Wildkats coach Dave Kehr said.

“It was good. We had a lot of contributors and they all did a nice job. Ashley started off pitching well and we hit the ball pretty well. Maddie Fetter did a great job in left field and was a part of two double plays.”

Senior Alysha Cantu went 1 for 3 with a double for Columbia Falls.
