Wanda Fay Blakeman, 80

Wanda Fay Blakeman, 80, passed away March 26, 2015, at her Hot Springs residence.

 Wanda was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Buffalo, Wyoming. She grew up in  the Fence Creek area of Wyoming. 

On Oct. 6, 1951, Wanda married Herbert Blakeman at her parents’ home in Sheridan County, Wyoming. The were married for 64 years before her passing. 

After marriage, Wanda was a homemaker, raising her son Brad. She then started working as a ranch cook, drove trucks for many years, managed rest homes and finally became the owner/operator of the Running Iron Restaurant. 

Wanda had been a longtime member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. She enjoyed needlepoint and quilting. She was an exceptional mother. 

Wanda is survived by her husband, Herbert, of Hot Springs; son, Brad Blakeman; grandchildren, Barry LeBourdais of Kamloops, British Columbia, and Nirvana Blakeman of Calgary, Alberta; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Morgan and Levi LeBourdais, all of Kamloops; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 30, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Lakeside. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the Murray Memorial Cemetery in Lone Pine.
