Smart phones are smarter when parked

A man was reportedly “Facetiming” with a woman while she was driving a Hummer and the line went dead. The Whitefish Police Department was called to make sure the woman was all right, which she was, possibly because she stopped using her cellphone while driving.

The manager of a Wisconsin Avenue apartment complex was “throwing all the bikes and kids’ toys,” according to a call to the police.

A minor crash took place amid the construction on U.S. 93 and Fox Hollow Lane.

A woman saw a touching scene — a young boy driving a golf cart with his dad on the course near Green Place. She didn’t think this was OK, however, and told police that the kid might crash into her house.

The Polson Police Department responded to a vehicle accident on First Street West and Seventh Avenue.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned mother. She said that her son “needs to be in jail” because he solicits money with claims that his family was killed.

A vehicle was stolen from Spotted Bear Road. The owner left it unlocked with the keys inside.

Deputies searched for two people who reportedly let some air out of a car tire on U.S. 2 near Kalispell before driving off.

Someone called with information regarding an estimated 50 windows that were shot out with a BB gun along Airport Road.

Deputies helped clear up a spat between adolescent girls.

Apparently unhappy with a repair, a man threatened a mechanic with brass knuckles. He left before deputies arrived, but reportedly vowed to come back to get his payment back.

Some loud music on Canyon Branch Road was “shaking the house,” according to a complaint report.

A Baker Avenue resident called three times with complaints about fast drivers on her street. She kept calling back to reiterate her concern, saying that she was in “deep trauma” over some near misses.

There was a report of some late-night car racing on U.S. 2 near Hungry Horse.
