Things are getting crazy in the remaining weeks left to prepare for the Crosstown Craze, the annual senior post-graduation blowout for Kalispell high school students.

Kalispell’s graduates have been partying at the Craze since the 1970s and the Class of 2015 is invited to continue the tradition by attending the all-night event, that begins at 9 p.m. June 6, ending at 4 a.m. the next morning at The Summit Medical Fitness Center.

This year’s theme, “Strut your Stuff,” will showcase senior talents by featuring art and multimedia galleries, a dance and rap battle room and an open microphone.

Organized games include laser tag, remote car racing, water polo, tug-of-war, basketball, Minute to Win It, football toss, hoop shoot, speed pitch, sumo wrestling, pingpong, walley ball, goldfish races and Cash Cab, among others. There will be a henna tattoo station and a manicure-pedicure spa, DJ, dance floor, movies, video games and a casino. Participants will also have access to the Summit’s many amenities such as the rock-climbing wall and aquatic center.

The party is open to Flathead and Glacier high school and Linderman Education Center graduates.

Tickets are $30 if purchased in May and include two entries for the chance to win the grand prize, a 2009 Chevrolet HHR donated by Eisinger Motors. Tickets purchased June 1-6 are $35 and include one entry for a chance to win the car. Tickets are available for purchase in the main office at each school. The grand prize drawing will be held at 3 a.m (must be present to win).

Tickets are priced to encourage early purchase to get a head count for prizes and obtain money to produce the party.

The first 300 students to purchase tickets will receive a welcome gift package valued at $50.

There will be food and giveaways throughout the night.

Giveaways include up to $2,000 in cash, tablets, game consoles, outdoor trips, sporting goods, gift certificates and appliances such as a college dorm mini refrigerator. Seniors get to preview and select their prize-drawing entries with tickets obtained by participating in the games and activities. The more fun a student has playing games, the more chances to win.

Volunteers are still needed to help out with set-up, tear-down, operating games, serving food and security split into two- to three-hour shifts beginning at 5 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m.

About 50 volunteers have signed up, but more than 100 are needed.

The Crosstown Craze was initiated by parents to provide a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment for students to celebrate their achievements. The party is possible through the help of volunteers and donations from individuals, local businesses and organizations. More than 100 business and individuals have contributed to the tradition and contributions still are appreciated.

Donations are tax-deductible and may be mailed to Crosstown Craze 2015, P.O. Box 8313, Kalispell, MT 59904. Another way to support the Crosstown Craze is by purchasing a 30-day Summit pass for $30 with half of the proceeds going to the party.

Passes may be purchased at Insty-Prints, 151 Main St., Kalispell; Super 1 Foods in downtown Kalispell or  Evergreen; Universal Athletics, 284 N. Meridian Road, Kalispell; and at Western Building Center, 1745 Third Ave. E., Kalispell.
