Evaleen Weter, 92

Evaleen Weter who died on May 8, 2015, was born June 26, 1922, in Newark, Missouri. Her parents, Leslie and Marie Levengood, came to Butte from Missouri when Evaleen was an infant.

She received her early education in the Butte schools and graduated from Butte High School. She took post graduate courses in business administration.

Evaleen married Julian M. Weter Jan. 6,1941, and moved to Browning, where Julian ranched. She was employed by the First National Bank at Browning for 20 years. After retiring from her position at the bank she was employed for the next 11 years as business administrator for the Browning School District No. 9. The Weters sold their ranch holdings in 1979 and retired to Bigfork.

Evaleen was a supporter of the Village Square Art and Cultural Center in Bigfork and was a patron of the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts. She was a member of the Kalispell Church of Christ, the Bigfork Lady Lions, Flathead Lake Chapter No. 128 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Bigfork Development Corporation.

She is survived by sisters Wilma Burke of Helena and Carol Hall of Glen Allen.

Virginia and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers, and her husband, Julian.

Due to family illnesses no service is planned.

The Bigfork Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.
