Intoxicated man needs new friends

A man might need to reassess his life after his friends left him in an extremely intoxicated state lying on a sidewalk — in his own vomit — for a reported 45 minutes outside a East First Street bar according to Whitefish Police Department. Police requested an ambulance to check the man. When he was cleared, he was driven home.

A manager at a U.S. 93 South business told police a customer, claiming to be from the Republic of Austria, tried to set up a mailbox.

Police suspect construction was the culprit in setting off a burglary alarm at a residence on U.S. 93 South.

Items were reported missing from a vehicle on Skyles Place. The owner found a zip lock bag with the name “Jean P.” that did not belong to the owner.

A woman with a possible mental condition wanted Columbia Falls Police Department to come over to her house on Second Avenue West to take a look at laundry her neighbor had hung on her fence. She said she didn’t know who owned the sweater. Police discovered a man had been out cleaning his yard and had draped his jacket over the fence.

A woman on Sixth Street West reported a missing flower pot. She was counseled by police.

Bullies allegedly chased a parent’s  8-year-old son out of a park on Nucleus Avenue. The rapscallions were reported as slightly older in age, riding bicycles. The parent said the harassment was an ongoing issue.

A woman said she found a Chihuahua she thought appeared sick or injured at a restaurant on Ninth Street West. When authorities picked up the dog it was described as older and overweight, not sick or injured.

A door and a closet door were reported stolen from a back alley unit on Third Avenue West.

Reckless driving resulted in a confrontation on Ninth Street West. The suspect reportedly had tailgated a man and made “bad passes” after he pulled out of his driveway.

More road rage and reckless driving was reported on Ninth Street West when a light blue pickup with the name of a restaurant on the back, was chasing another car. At a red light, the truck driver allegedly jumped out and started swearing at the car driver.

Kalispell Police Department received a report of a woman in her 20s  dancing around while a male yelled at her on Fourth Avenue East North and East Oregon Street. The man was also said to be yelling at cars. The couple was allegedly seen drinking beer earlier at a supermarket.

A motor home caught on fire at West Montana Street and Third Avenue West North. There were no injuries.

An upset woman on Sylvan Drive reported that a brown dog in her yard was being aggressive toward her dogs. She didn’t know who the dog belonged to and was afraid to let her kids outside when it was there.

Someone on Third Avenue East spotted a ferret in their yard and did not want to pick it up.

Fraud was reported on South Main Street when a man discovered checks were being written from an account he closed about five years ago.

A concerned child care provider called police when she saw two children driving a Power Wheels car in and out of parking lot on West California Street.

Someone reported that a “party bus” had been parked on Seventh Avenue West and Fourth Street West for a couple of weeks and they were concerned because the road was narrow.  

A male was allegedly hanging around vehicles and possibly scoping them out on U.S. 93 South before hiding behind a building when he saw a police car’s lights.

Someone said a group of teenagers were throwing something into traffic on East Idaho Street, but couldn’t tell what it was.

Someone tried to break into a man’s house on Airport Road and had kicked a hole in the door.
