Tennis: Polson girls, Libby boys net champs

LIBBY — Polson ran off with the girls team title while Libby pulled through with a tight victory over Whitefish and Polson for the boys team championship on Friday at the Northwestern A divisional tennis tournament.

Polson’s girls rolled up 52 points to finish well ahead of runner-up Whitefish, which had 35.

Libby’s boys totaled 40 points to Whitefish’s 39 and Polson’s 38.

Walter Briones of Libby and Emily Getts of Columbia Falls were singles champions.

Taking the doubles titles were Colin Kenney and Quaid Harlan of Polson and Whitefish’s Anna Peterson and Katie Fyall.
