Debt disasters are just waiting to happen

I read with great interest the recent letter of concern from a local Whitefish resident on the new City Hall building proposal. 

If your readers remember, I wrote a similar letter months ago. How can rational people keep spending money they do not have nor the economy support? Look around and follow the runaway train led by “business people and politicians”! You should see that there is no way to recover from the great amount of debt both locally or nationwide. 

How about pay ALL debt and then operate in the black? Seems logical rather than doing the “Wizard Of Oz” routine and keep leading people down the path of economic destruction. People are so easily led, as the current disaster in our nation shows on all levels, that it is easy for “MONEY” to blind the ignorant and fill the pockets of the corrupt and power hungry people. 

Picture Whitefish empty of tourists and filled with debt. Can’t happen? That is what you are led to believe by the very people that will be first to abandon the area when the economy fails and debt cannot be paid back. Oh well, look at the bright side: The illegals will have very nice houses to live in once the seasonal people are broke and gone! How about you?

Make your elected officials be held accountable for ALL their decisions that are not supported by the very people who elected them. Let’s be different than the rest of the once great USA! —Ron Albrecht, Whitefish
