Trustees have approved a contract for Andrea Johnson, the incoming Kalispell Public Schools assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.

The board of trustees unanimously approved a one-year contract with a first-year salary of $108,000, including benefits. Johnson’s contract begins July 1.

Other benefits include mileage reimbursement up to $1,200 a year, $960 annually for a cellphone and up to $600 a year for civic club memberships.

Johnson will succeed Assistant Superintendent Dan Zorn, who will be superintendent of Longview School District in Washington. He will complete the school year in Kalispell through June 30, finishing 16 years with the district.

Johnson will finish up the school year as superintendent of Townsend School District, where she has worked for four years.

Prior to her position in Townsend, Johnson was superintendent of Big Sky School District from 2010-11.

Johnson holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Lewis and Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.
