WHITEFISH — Butte scored three runs in the fifth inning and posted two more in the seventh to edge the Glacier Twins 5-4 in a nonconference American Legion baseball game, sending the club to its seventh straight loss. The game was switched to a single, nine-inning game after rain delayed the planned doubleheader.

The Twins took an early lead, scoring twice in the third inning to take a 2-0 advantage, but a big fifth inning put Butte ahead. The Miners scored twice in the top of the ninth to push across the winning runs, holding off a two-run rally from Glacier.

Tyler Murphy had two hits to lead the Twins and Jayce Fagerland had a pair of RBIs.

The Twins host a conference doubleheader against the Bitterroot Bucs today at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park.
