LAW ROUNDUP: Drunken boyfriend exiled to porch
A woman on Iowa Avenue called Whitefish Police to ask officers to remove her 27-year-old boyfriend who was intoxicated. Law enforcement responded twice, and on the second visit, officers advised the man, now referred to as an ex-boyfriend, to sleep on the woman’s porch and not try to get into the house.
A woman on West Seventh Street complained that there were 12-foot long beams in the middle of the sidewalk obstructing pedestrian traffic. An officer arrived to find that everyone at the construction site was at lunch.
A man on East Seventh Street said nothing was wrong and that he just didn’t want to talk to a friend in California after the friend called law enforcement concerned that he had not gotten a birthday phone call from the man. The friend said the man always called for birthdays and that he was worried about the man’s safety.
Columbia Falls Police told a property manager that no one was home atan address on Eighth Avenue East North after other tenants called to report that there was a disturbance on the property. The property manager said there were reports the people in the unit might be using meth. Officers said they thought the neighbors might be trying to cause problems, because all was quiet when they arrived.
A train worker had to signal a railroad approach manually after the crossing lights would not work.
Kalispell Police responded to a residence on North Meridian Road where a 15-year-old girl was bitten by a large dog as she carried groceries upstairs. The dog was quarantined.
Officers found a misunderstanding at a hotel on East Idaho where a couple said that they had been borrowing a car and someone showed up and took it back. The couple said all of their belongings were in the car. The parties were counseled.
Officers left a message on a woman’s phone after the father of her unborn child called from Arlee to ask law enforcement to check on her. The man did not have an address for the woman, but said that she had told him that she was drinking and he was worried about her. The man was counseled about his options.
A woman on Liberty Street said that she was getting text messages from a man who was served an order to have no contact with her. The woman said the man indicated that he was outside of her house and would be there all day.
A student was arrested for marijuana possession at Wolfpack Way.
