LETTER: 2nd thoughts about green box site in Bigfork

They’ve got to be kidding, right? After all the money and energy spent on the fancy, big facility designed to correct what the county saw as a problem with Bigfork’s green box site, the new one that opened for business is LOCKED at 7:45 a.m. So, really, is it true? Our garbage site is only open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.?

We started with a cheap (remember, the county only paid $2,000 a year rent for that site!), workable site to which the community had 24 hour access. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked!

Now the county owns a half-million dollar site, citizens have a new tax to pay, and people have limited  access (8-5) which is inconvenient to many of those who use it.
