LETTER: Why didn't imam take questions?
In October, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, promoter of the ground zero mosque, appeared in Missoula sponsored by The Montana World Affairs Council.
I was part of a group from Kalispell that attended, anxious to participate in the advertised question and answer period that followed his presentation. However, at the event we learned there would be no questions from the floor, only written ones submitted prior to the presentation. It appears the imam is unwilling to respond to comments or questions that could offer different opinions, ones that might reveal the true nature and history of Islam.
Obviously then, none of the following questions were asked: What about the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan to destroy America from within? What about his efforts to restrict free speech in America? What about the total contradictions between sharia law and the American Constitution, specifically the Bill of Rights? What about Islam’s 1,400-year persecution of Christians and Jews? What about Islam’s continuing denigration of women?
The evidence suggests that Islam is well aware that it cannot defend its faith or current aggressive militancy when confronted with the truth. The imam spoke of love for everybody but they not only kill us infidels, they kill each other every day. He spoke of the need for multi-cultural assimilation but it is the Muslims here and in Europe who refuse to assimilate. He insisted that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is a civil-rights organization but even Saudi Arabia has identified it as a terrorist organization. He says Islam is love, tolerance, and understanding, when all the facts prove otherwise. His presentation was taqiyya (lying and deceiving, as endorsed in the Qur’an) in its truest form.
Interesting also that he got to speak at numerous schools in Missoula. Isn’t that contrary to the establishment clause of the Constitution? Do those same schools allow Christian speakers, Jewish speakers, Hindu, or Buddhist speakers? Would the Montana World Affairs Council invite those speakers or someone who has an opposing view on Islam? —Tom Osborne, Kalispell
