Whitefish man tries, fails to turn himself in

Whitefish Police were notified after man on Spokane Avenue called to ask who he needed to write a check to and where he needed to go if he turned himself in to authorities, but dispatch staff could not find any active warrants on the man.

Staff reported that a transient man had been hanging around the train station for three days, talking to himself and screaming in the restrooms. The man bought a ticket and personnel said they would call back if the man caused any issues.

A man on West Ninth Street found that his toy hauler trailer was stolen. Officers were not able to get enough information to put out an alert for law enforcement to be on the lookout for the trailer.

An officer chased down three boys who allegedly video recorded via cellphone a child whose mother had given him permission to urinate on a tree in the kiddie park on Pine Avenue. The boys said they had not recorded the child and were counseled.


A school asked that Columbia Falls Police be dispatched after an angry parent made threats against the school.
