LETTER: Retool the old high school and build a new one

| November 13, 2015 11:00 PM

I am curious and maybe this idea has already been discussed. They are talking about building one to three different schools in Kalispell, which to me is a waste of money.

We have several problems that need to be addressed. First of all, we have a parking problem at Flathead High School; then we have the grade schools. Why can’t we handle both at the same time. Convert the high school into a big grade school, getting rid of the parking problem and build a new high school with enough parking. The grade school would only need parking for the staff, which there is plenty of and getting rid of the classrooms and shop across the street would make room for outside activities. This might save on taxes also.

I am not the smartest person on the block and maybe I don’t see the whole picture but I felt I needed to bring it up. —Sid Anderson, Kalispell
