LETTER: Thanks to Scouts, United Way, for making life better

| November 15, 2015 11:00 AM

Saturday morning the doorbell rang. Much to my surprise, when I opened the door there was a group of boys with rakes in their hands.

They were Boy Scouts coming through United Way to rake up the leaves from my yard. They came in three cars with some parents, of course. They were happy and excited to be helping someone who needed help. They all got to work and did a great job in my back and front yards.

The men in the group even tied up a part of a falling fence for me.

I am now 90 and a Boy and Girl Scout mother when we were raising our family. Thank you, United Way and all the scouts and families, for your help. —Marie Williams, Kalispell
