Carol J. Curtis, 80
Carol J. Curtis was “welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” on Nov. 13, 2015, in Maple Valley, Washington. Carol was 80 years old and resided in Kalispell most of her adult life.
She was born on March 15, 1935, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, daughter of Ralph and Margaret Wittrock.
A short time after graduating high school in 1953 at Kennewick, Washington, and while on the work force, Carol had acquired a pen pal from the Navy and family acquaintance, to whom she later married.
Carol married Howard Curtis in Kennewick on Sept. 9, 1955. They moved to Kalispell in 1956. Carol fell in love with the local area and settled in to the first of several churches both her and Howard visited regularly. Carol began a family in the fall of 1957. Raising a family was the highlight of her life. Carol was very proud of her four children and worked diligently to give each one a great quality of life. She consistently kept an immaculate house, clean clothes for the family, and loved working in her kitchen preparing canned goods. She was always prudent in planning ahead for her family.
Carol leaned on her personal Savior Jesus Christ for her strength and direction throughout her entire life. Her ever grateful and thankful spirit was a strong testament of her belief and could be seen in her daily Christian walk. Her walk with Jesus was most evident in her kind and loving heart through her prayer life. Carol would involve herself in ones life with genuine care and concern, and was open about praying with them. Her involvement with several churches during her life, helped mold her into the strong Christian she was growing into each and every day. Carol took everyone for who they were and would expand on the good in them with pure intentions. Carol was a pillar of encouragement in the lives of those she loved.
Carol was preceded in death by her father Ralph Wittrock, mother Margaret Rheingans, brother Loren Wittrock, and loving Husband Howard Curtis of 54 years.
Carol is survived by her four children, son Randal Curtis and spouse Jill Curtis, daughter Robbin Taylor and spouse Ron Taylor, son Rodney Curtis and spouse Teresa Curtis, son Ronald Curtis and spouse Shirleen Curtis; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous valued friends.
Graveside services for Carol will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at Fairview Cemetery on Middle Road East of Kalispell; with Pastor Ronnie Pierce of Bigfork officiating.
