LETTER: Support the Wolverines

| November 26, 2015 11:00 AM

The Wolverines junior hockey team, member of Western States Hockey League, a professionally run player-focused junior program, has a home in Whitefish, managed by Josh Steel, along with Coach Joakim Falt and Assistant Coach Heath Root.

They believe the league’s equal commitment to the development of both domestic and international prospects brings physical action to the community of a fast-paced game of hockey. Players are from all over the world who are dedicated to the sport.

This past weekend, they had a three-game win against the Seattle Totems. The sweep builds on their home winning streak. Next up, on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m., the Wolverines play the Butte Cobras.

I believe the Flathead Valley sports fans should come out and show support for the team that has their home base in Whitefish. The stands should be full. As No. 1 fan, I am inviting you all to come cheer for the home team at Stumptown Ice Den, Whitefish. Team apparel is also available including sweatshirts, polos, T-shirts, and hats, plus coffee mugs, etc.

The beer garden features beer and wine along with hamburgers and other food items, along with snack food at the rink concessions. Hope to see you this weekend!

Play continues through March. Check out the team schedule at www.whitefishwolverines.com. —Carol Anderson, Whitefish
