Roof jumper puzzles residents
Someone reported to the Kalispell Police Department that a female had jumped off the roof of a neighbor’s house and climbed a ladder onto another house on Eight Street West. She reportedly climbed back down the ladder and ran northbound onto 12th Avenue West, before turning around and coming back toward Eighth Street West. The woman was carrying her shoes in her hand. The woman then knocked on the door of the person who called law enforcement and said someone was going to kill her. The woman was advised to leave by an officer.
A woman on Two Mile Drive took her child and went to a gas station to call her parents for help after her husband allegedly hit her in the nose. She said the man smashed her phone when she tried to call police. The woman did not want to immediately file a report.
An officer brought a dog to a shelter in hopes that workers could put an end to the animal’s suffering. Someone called to report that the dog, located on Fourth Avenue, appeared to be very sick with what looked like intestines hanging out of its back side. The dog’s owner reportedly said the animal was 10 years old and aggressive. The animal had a large tumor near its rear leg. The property owner did not have the resources treat the illness.
A man who had escaped a Butte pre-release incarceration program came to the police station to turn himself in, but took off again before officers could arrest him.
A woman called the Columbia Falls Police Department and said that she accidentally hit another vehicle in a bank parking lot and drove off because she was shaken up. She circled back around, but the other driver she hit had left.
An employee was fired at a Ninth Street West business after stealing. The business reported the theft to officers, but theft-prevention workers were not optimistic that the accused thief would remain on scene until police arrived.
A woman on Third Avenue East was taken to jail for partner/family member assault after she showed back up at her home. The previous night she allegedly smashed the window to the kitchen door and left on foot.
A woman called police and said that a person who was supposed to be paying her bills had withdrawn money from her bank account and would not tell her where the funds had gone.
Whitefish Police Department found everything was OK and that a beer truck was just unloading at a Central Avenue business where the front door alarm had gone off.
A coat was stolen from a bar on Central Avenue.
A drunken man was expected to be in the hospital for a long time after an ambulance transported him to the emergency room when he was found unresponsive on Spokane Avenue.
