Nancy M. Weckwerth, 91

| October 4, 2015 6:00 AM

Nancy M. Weckwerth passed away Sept. 30, 2015, in Kalispell, surrounded by her family.

Nancy was born June 6, 1924 in South Natick, Massachusetts. She was raised at a farm in Wellesley, Massachusetts and at age 18 she and her sister moved to Arizona to work on aircraft during World War II.

After the war, she went to Wisconsin where she met and married her husband, Dick. In the early ’50s they moved to Montana where Dick received his master’s degree at the University of Montana. Some of her most cherished memories were of living in a one room cabin in Glacier Park while Dick finished his thesis.

Up until recent years she loved spending summer and fall at her family home in New Hampshire. She was an avid outdoors woman and enjoyed baking bread and brownies for her family and friends. Other interests included yoga and feeding the wild birds at her home. She took great joy in watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her sister, Jane Berg, and brother, Henry McCrillis.

She is survived by her children, Peter and wife Norama, Maty and husband Steve, Elizabeth and husband Jim; four grandchildren, Peter and Chad Weckwerth, Eliot and Rachel Leathe, and five great-grandchildren, Lucas, Bridger and Cade Weckwerth.

She told her granddaughter recently, “I’ve been very fortunate, there is nothing I would have changed about my life.”

Per her wishes, no services will be held.
