Football dispute leads to fight

A resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report several adults fighting outside a Nucleus Avenue business. When police arrived, they found the melee to be a verbal dispute over a football game.

A Columbia Falls painter called police after the owner of a local tavern allegedly refused to pay for a painting. After the painter told the owner that he would take the issue to small claims court, the owner started threatening the painter.

A Sixth Street resident called to report a stalker.

Someone stole the handicap placard from a vehicle parked at a grocery store on Ninth Street West.

A Center Street resident reported their vehicle had been spray painted overnight.

Someone reportedly broke into a Ninth Street West business and pried open the vending machine to steal the change. The businesses owner also reported five Samsung tablets missing from the property, which did not have surveillance cameras installed.

A Third Street resident called to report a Columbia Falls Police Department SUV driving over 50 mph without its sirens on.

A brown SUV was reported driving recklessly on Ninth Street after it ran a Columbia Falls resident off the road.

A man in a black hooded sweatshirt was reported after seen sitting suspiciously in his vehicle on Sixth Avenue West. Police found the man was sitting outside of a business looking for a free wi-fi connection.

Columbia Falls police followed a woman to her home when they saw her driving erratically on Eighth Street West. Once at the residence, law enforcement found that she had kidney issues. Her husband drove her to the hospital.


A Flathead Avenue resident called Whitefish Police Department about leaving some items with the police for her son to pick up. She said her son had been threatening her and she didn’t feel safe meeting him in person.

An employee of a U.S. 93 store called police about a man trying to return items paid for with a bad check at the Kalispell location.


A First Avenue East resident called Kalispell Police Department to report two dogs came into his yard and killed his chickens.

A woman was caught shoplifting at a First Avenue East North business. The store manager detained the woman until police arrived.

A woman called to report that another man had just assaulted her son on Northern Lights Boulevard. The man came back to the residence after the assault and was allegedly yelling, “Guess what, I know where you live and you don’t know where I live,” to her son from the yard.

An East Idaho Street resident called police after a 10-year-old child approached the caller asking if he’d like to smoke weed with him. Police found the boy in a vehicle with his father nearby, without any marijuana.

A man came into a South Main Street business and allegedly pulled out his genitals in front of the female employees. The caller described the man as a white male about 6-feet tall, wearing big boots and glasses.

Police broke up a party of more than 30 kids at a West Idaho Street parking lot. A mini storage security guard called police after the kids began throwing bottles around the property.
