Diane Joy Lindsay, 56
Diane Joy Lindsay, 56, passed away on Oct. 2, 2015.
Diane was born in Kalispell in 1959 to parents Carol and Richard Lindsay. She was a beautiful, bright and artistically gifted girl who excelled in academics. She was an athlete as well, excelling in track and cross country, and she would continue to hike, snowshoe, backpack and ski throughout her life. The mountains of Montana were home to her and nothing made her happier than spending time in Glacier Park.
In 1981, she moved to Alaska, where she worked as a bank teller and receptionist, and where she met and married Dale Sanders. They welcomed son Bryan in May of 1984, and a daughter, Lindsay, in July of 1986. A year later, she returned to Kalispell. She moved with her children to Havre to attend college and graduated from Montana State University-Northern in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and certification to teach high school art. She returned to Kalispell where she remained the rest of her life.
Diane was a compassionate woman who was always willing to help a friend and her generosity and warmth touched many lives. She was the kind of person to sit with a friend in the hospital, or bring them a bouquet of wildflowers, just to show that she cared. She was a very creative woman who drew, painted watercolors, and made intricate beaded jewelry, and also loved to write.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her two children, and adored her granddaughters, who called her “Nana.”
She will be deeply missed by her family.
Diane is survived by her husband, Randal Marr; by her parents, Richard and Carol Lindsay; her brother, Bret Lindsay, his wife Christine, and their children, Noah and Skye; brother, Kurt Lindsay, his wife Justine, and their daughters, Keira and Hanna; her son, Bryan Sanders; daughter, Lindsay “Liberty” Kifer, and her husband, Meko; and three granddaughters, Sasha, Zoe and Arya.
A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kalispell.
Memorials can be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp, Abbie Shelter, or the charity of your choice.
Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
