LETTER: Drugs just make you stupid

When it comes to stupidity, I think the use and over-use of heroin, meth, cocaine and other illegal substances on any basis makes you just flat stupid.

This is what you can call a walk into your grave. You don’t know it when you take your first step, but then as you take more steps, before long you will realize where you’re at and bam, it’s too late, you’re already swirling down the drain and boom, the bottom again, and you don’t know how to stop and control is gone, so you end up in prison, no more fresh air and the wall close behind you and by that time you wonder why you didn’t get a second chance and you sit and wonder how you could be so stupid and how you got there at warp speed.

That’s when you wonder why your life got so ridiculous, but this time I got that second chance, so to the great people who helped me, thank you so much. —Richard Turner, Somers
