Well-dressed woman causes ruckus
Whitefish Police were notified of a woman in a white dress, wearing black lipstick and a black trench coat, who kept yelling at people leaving a bar on Central Avenue. The woman left and returned and was told to go home again. A short while later she was spotted walking on Montana 40 with a piece of lumber. An officer offered to give her a ride home.
A man on Iowa Avenue called police twice expressing his concerns that his ex-girlfriend might show up because she was recently released from jail. The man said the woman was unpredictable and always caused a scene. The man was advised to call again if the woman actually showed up.
A woman on Eighth Avenue East North reported to Columbia Falls Police that her husband had slashed her tires. She told deputies that the man was not dangerous and would never hurt an officer.
A portable toilet was tipped over at a construction site in a smelly act of criminal mischief.
A junior high student was turned over to parents and a school principal after he reported that three other students were chasing him on Talbot Road.
Homeowners told Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office that thieves who robbed a garage on Timberlane Road were caught on a game camera.
Kalispell Police Department took a report from a business on Main Street that a customer tried unsuccessfully to pass counterfeit money. The reporting party thought it was suspicious that the customer’s mother tore the money up and put it in the trash can as they left.
A man on Fifth Street West called to report that his 55-year-old girlfriend had hit him three times in the face while she was drunk. The man wanted to press charges against the woman, who had a lengthy criminal history.
An old issue resurfaced at a parking lot behind a club on U.S. 93, where a man reported that two other men swung at him and tried to hurt him because they were upset about “something that happened a long time ago.” Officers were unable to locate the man who called.
