Football roundup: Whitefish whips Hamilton, Columbia Falls romps by Broncs
WHITEFISH — Whitefish completed regular-season action with a 52-19 triumph over Hamilton in Class A nonconference football Friday night at Memorial Field.
Whitefish QB Luke May had another standout effort, completing 12 of 16 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for two more on 12 carries for 85 yards.
Chris Park carried the ball nine times for 84 yards and one score.
Whitefish receiver Brian FauntLeRoy had six receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
Whitefish (8-1) led 31-6 at the half.
Hamilton (3-5) had 201 yards passing, but finished with minus 10 yards rushing.
“Great defensive game by our guys,” Whitefish coach Chad Ross said.
“Hamilton hit real hard, came out ready to play.”
Up next for Whitefish, the Northwestern A champions, is playoff action. The Bulldogs have a first-round bye.
“We just need to focus on getting better,” Ross said.
“Doing the little things right and not beating ourself.”

Havre 48, Polson 28
POLSON — The Havre Blue Ponies (7-2) rode a 28-point second quarter to a come-from-behind Class A nonconference victory over Polson (3-5) in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Polson held a 21-12 lead before Havre went on its touchdown parade.
Tanner Wilson ran 13 yards for a touchdown and passed for two more, 59 yards to Jacob Harrod and 13 yards to Matthew Rensvold, to lead Polson.
Colton Cote had Polson’s other score, a 15-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Havre QB Dane Warp ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more.
Polson advances to playoff action next weekend.

Columbia Falls 44, Frenchtown 6
FRENCHTOWN — After a slow start, Columbia Falls bolted to a lopsided Northwestern A victory over the Frenchtown Broncs in the final game of the regular season for both schools.
Columbia Falls (4-3, 2-1) held a 14-0 lead at the half and outscored Frenchtown (3-6, 0-3) 30-6 in the final half.
Columbia Falls quarterback Dakota Bridwell had touchdown runs of one and 11 yards and he passed six yards to Tyler Murphy for another score.
Columbia Falls moves on to playoff action next weekend.
