Donald Raymond Osborne, 85

| October 25, 2015 5:00 PM

Don, “Grandpa,” passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Oct. 19, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lillian Osborne; brother, Robert Osborne; and wife, Gladys Osborne.

He was born in Pennsylvania to Raymond and Lillian Osborne on Sept. 3, 1930.

His life took him many places after joining the Coast Guard, but one place in particular would forever change his life. It was a small island in Florida where he met the love of his life, his “only gal,” Gladys.

Together they had three children and shared many wonderful times and adventures.

Coastlines to mountaintops called his name and his family of five shared his love of life with him.

Don moved his family to Montana from Florida where he retired from Montana Power as operations superintendent. His love of the outdoors took him to Seeley Lake where he had many adventures hiking, biking and sleeping by the fire at the cabin he loved so much. He shared his kind heart with all that knew him.

Don will be remembered for his kindness to others, his love for dear wife and family, his passion for life, and his belief that we will all be together again.

Don is survived by three children, Karen Lee and Stan of Kalispell, Glenn Osborne and Marilyn of Columbia Falls, and Sharon Girven and Alan of Kalispell. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be 8 to 9 a.m., Monday, Nov. 2 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Services will take place under the direction of Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Seeley Lake cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Gopp presiding.
