Police search for station assailant

Whitefish Police responded after extra patrol was requested at the train station after a sexual assault occurred the previous evening. A suspect was identified, and officers were told that an older man had been loitering in the area two nights in a row.

A man on East Third Street reported that his landlord had bullied and pushed him around. When officers responded, they found that the man did not want them contact the landlord. The man said he would all back if anything escalated.


Columbia Falls Police could not find a victim to make a report after someone called 911 to report that people had drawn knives on each other at a Nucleus Avenue location. The reporting party said that someone indicated that they had been stabbed in the scuffle. The suspected victim was a skinny older man in a Carhartt vest without an underlying shirt.

Kalispell Police Department responded to a restaurant on U.S. 2 where two men had gotten into a drunken brawl. One of the men was transported to jail after he was found to be very drunk, with whiskey in his car.

A drunk woman showed up to a Depot Park address and allegedly assaulted her husband.

A man was transported to the hospital after he was found unconscious on a sidewalk off of Meridian Road. It was believed that the man may have been going through withdrawal.

People at a residence on Twelfth Avenue West were advised of their warrants after it was reported that someone at the residence was coming off of heroin, being disorderly, and breaking things.

A shoplifter on Hutton Ranch Road was reported as stealing candy and electronics.

A worker on Treeline Road asked that extra patrol be performed after a teenage girl stopped in to use the phone at the front desk of a business. The girl’s car was then spotted driving by the place a few times later in the day. Management felt that the girl might be preparing to steal from the business. An officer advised the establishment’s security that the suspect’s car had a loud broken muffler. The security worker said they had not seen or heard the vehicle in the area.

Officers responded after a person reported that there was a man with a headlamp in the parking lot of a high school. Officers found the suspect was a security guard.

Pieces of a car were left in a pond for the parks department to fish out after a car drove off Fourteenth Street, into a park, and into a pond.
