BIGFORK — Two fourth-quarter touchdown receptions by senior wide receiver Bo Zeiler rallied Florence to an 18-13 Class B nonconference football victory over Bigfork on Monday.

Zeiler’s catches covered 15 and 38 yards from Braxton McCoullugh, a junior quarterback.

The last touchdown came with six minutes to play.

Zeiler finished with seven receptions for 79 yards.

McCoullugh opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 38-yard touchdown strike to Marcus Zeiler, a sophomore wide receiver.

Bigfork led 13-7 at the half on touchdown runs by junior running back Matthew Farrier, eight yards, and Jonathan Landon, one yard.

The game was originally scheduled for Friday, but was rescheduled because of poor air-quality issues in the Flathead Valley.

It was the season opener for both schools.

Florence had 252 yards in total offense to 234 for Bigfork.

Landon completed 17 of 35 passes for 183 yards.

Adam Jordt was Landon’s favorite target, catching 10 passes for 130 yards.

The Vikings could muster just 51 yards on the ground. Matthew Farrier had 41 of those on 16 carries.

Bigfork had two turnovers, lost fumble and interception, while Florence had none.

“We held the lead for a long time,” Bigfork coach Todd Emslie said. “They just executed in the end.”

Bigfork has a short week with a nonconference game Friday at Ronan.
