GOLF: Schulz, McDaniel top Columbia Falls Invitational
RONAN — Whitefish senior Coral Schulz shot a 5-over-par 77 to run away with medalist honors as her Bulldogs team outpaced the field at the Columbia Falls Invitational golf tournament at Mission Mountain Golf Club on Wednesday.
Schulz beat the field by four strokes, topping teammate Katie Fyall, who finished in second place with an 81. The Bulldogs finished with four of the top five finishers, with Holly Hileman finishing third at 87 and Haylie Hileman fifth at 89.
Browning placed three girls in the top 10 to finish in second as a team.
The Hamilton boys had two golfers tie for medalist honors with Polson’s Carson McDaniel, all three shooting 5-over-par 77.
Columbia Falls’ Gabe Love finished fourth one stroke back to pace the fourth place Wildcats at their host meet.
Whitefish placed second as a team and Polson third. Whitefish’s Joey Walp finished in sixth at 82 and Brendan Buls ninth at 85. Polson’s Curtis Capdeville finished tied for seventh, shooting an 84.
