A different business reported that the same man walked into a restaurant on Central Avenue and tried to take tip money off a table. The man, wearing all denim, spoke with a “Russian or German” accent and had been in the building every day for the last week, according to reports.

A screaming couple drew attention as they headed northbound over the viaduct in Whitefish. The female party reportedly yelled at the male to stop following her. He did not comply, choosing instead to follow her across the road. Officers separated the pair.

A Butte man reportedly passed out with his car running in a parking lot. An officer tried knocking on the window and shining a flashlight to wake the man up, which he did with great reluctance. The man was told he could pick his keys up in the morning when he was sober.

A man on Nucleus Avenue called the Columbia Falls Police Department called to report a man he knew who was allegedly high on meth, had been drinking and was idling in his car at Nucleus Plaza.

A Third Avenue West resident called about a bear who had set up shop in a tree on the man’s front lawn. The man reported that the bear had been coming and resting in the tree for several days, and would grunt at him when he left his house. He said he was tired of the nuisance.

The Kalispell Police Department reported a man was found dead in a car in the parking lot of a store on U.S. 93. Police said it appeared the man had folded down his seat to sleep. Flathead County Sheriff and Coroner Chuck Curry said further information was unavailable.
