Wallet $300 lighter when returned

Kalispell Police Department fielded a call from a woman who left her wallet in the room of a hotel on U.S. 93. The woman retrieved her wallet, but $300 was missing. The woman believed that a hotel employee might be to blame, but she said management would not return her phone calls.

A man reported that his utility trailer was stolen from a lot on First Avenue East North. The man said the trailer was carrying quite a bit of equipment and material. The trailer was located in Spokane and was impounded.

A man and woman were advised to pick up and move along after a person complained that the woman was walking around buildings naked on West Idaho Street. The woman denied the alleged indecent exposure when confronted by officers.

A person reported that they had were the victim of a hit-and-run car collision on First Avenue EN. The person did not get a license plate number of the S10 Blazer that allegedly fled the scene, but he did see that the rear window was adorned with a Ten Commandments sticker.

A burglary on Cooper Lane left one woman wondering where her husband’s and son’s guns were. She told dispatchers that she didn’t call to report the theft immediately because her blood pressure was too high. The woman told officers that she has an aggressive pit bull and believes the dog might be familiar with the burglar. The intruder pushed in the woman’s air conditioning unit to gain access to the property. The woman had to attempt to restrain the dog, which is blind and deaf, so officers could take a report.


Whitefish Police Department checked West Eighth Street for signs of two dogs that reportedly killed a deer. The woman who reported the deer attack did not know who the dogs belonged to.

Oxycontin pills were reported stolen from a supermarket pharmacy. The suspected thief is a delivery driver.

A woman told dispatchers who were returning a hang-up call that she has had issues with her phone for 15 years and that when the phone is taken off the hook for too long it automatically dials 911.


Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks euthanized a black bear sow that was reported with a cub near a Columbia Falls park. The person who reported the bears said the sow looked dazed and was having trouble walking.


A school employee contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department to complain about a train blocking bus traffic. The employee said buses were lined up for blocks and unable to transport students. An officer was dispatched and the tracks eventually were cleared.

Officers took a report about two employees who got into a verbal altercation at a business located on Ninth Street West. One employee resigned and another felt threatened. One of the arguers said they intended to “take care of this outside of work.”
