Football roundup: Columbia Falls, Whitefish win big on homecoming

COLUMBIA FALLS — Dakota Bridwell threw seven touchdown passes and ran for another score as Columbia Falls (2-1 overall) whipped Browning 54-8 in Class A nonconference homecoming football action Friday night.

Bridwell was 17 of 41 passing for 253 yards. He did not throw an interception.

Tyler Murphy had three TD receptions covering 55, 2 and 7 yards.

Columbia Falls rushed for 112 yards. Stephen Lindsey had 34 yards on eight carries.

WHITEFISH — Chris Park rushed for 110 yards on three carries and scored two touchdowns as Whitefish crushed Stevensville in a Class A nonconference contest.

Park blocked a punt and returned it 11 yards for the first score of the night.

He followed that with a 68-yard TD burst to put Whitefish (3-1) up 13-0.

Tyler Cote returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown and capped the scoring with a 35-yard jaunt to the end zone.

Luke May passed for a touchdown, 24 yards to Brian FauntLeRoy, and ran for another, 2 yards, and Brady Staves had the other score on an 8-yard run.

Whitefish had 300 yards rushing.

“It was a good homecoming win for the seniors,” Whitefish coach Chad Ross said.

POLSON — Six different players scored touchdowns for Dillon, which Dillon romped past Polson in Class A nonconference play.

Troy Anderson ran 5 yards for a score and passed 14 yards to Gabe Hupp for another.

Anderson was 11 of 19 passing for 215 yards.

Matthew Rensvold scored on a 3-yard run for Polson.

Polson’s Tanner Wilson rushed for 104 yards on 16 attempts.

BIGFORK — Jonathan Landon ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as Bigfork cruised by St. Ignatius in Class B nonconference action.

Landon had TD runs of 5, 7 and 1 yard. He passed 22 yards to Logan Taylor for another score.

Matthew Farrier scored on a fumble recovery and runs of 6 and 12 yards.

Landon was 11 of 21 passing for 135 yards.

Farrier rushed for 110 yards on 15 carries.

Taylor caught three passes for 70 yards. Farrier had four receptions for 41 yards.

FLORENCE — Eureka scored first and last, but Florence pulled out the victory thanks to a two-point conversion.

James Dunn hauled in a 20-yard TD strike from Austin Sherwood in the opening quarter for Eureka.

Brenton Pluid completed the scoring with a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Florence scored on a kickoff return and a long pass.
