A homeowner on Central Avenue called the Whitefish Police Department when they came outside to find thieves had taken eight cushions from the patio furniture. He said he gets a lot of foot traffic passing by after the bars shut down, and that was likely where the pillow pilferers came from.

A Wisconsin Avenue resident called police when he found his tires slashed. He reported that someone had made threatening remarks to him earlier in the week and that although it might be related he did not want to file a report on that incident. He felt the slashing might have been related to an ongoing court case.

A water truck in a gravel pit on Wisconsin Avenue was “rapidly draining water” according to an onlooker. They believed someone had vandalized the vehicle. Officers found a slow leak from the truck, with no real sign of foul play.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a call from a woman who was released from jail only to find her car had been stolen. The man she named in the theft was on the vehicle’s registration, which was expired. The theft apparently occurred several months previously.

A black bear was rummaging through trash on Second Avenue West. It had happened several nights before as well.

Two boys on Ninth Street West were allegedly “hustling money from people,” riding on a skateboard and bike.

A Third Avenue West resident called police to report his neighbor was stealing his water. He said he had moved out a month before and was selling the home, but the water bill kept going up. He allegedly saw the neighbor’s hose running from his house to hers and confronted her about it, but nothing had changed.

A man called police to report his friend was beaten up on Nucleus Avenue. He said the friend was so badly hurt he couldn’t call himself. The caller couldn’t see who assaulted the man, but saw the direction they headed.
