LETTER: ACT for All is working

| September 29, 2015 8:14 PM

Kudos to the Office of Public Instruction for implementing the ACT for All program. It is of great benefit for ALL high school juniors in the state of Montana to take the ACT in order to access their readiness for higher education, which in turn may open the door to college and financial aid for many.

About 24 percent of the 9,489 students tested in Montana’s 2015 graduating class met all four benchmarks in each subject reflecting the minimum score needed to “indicate a 50 percent chance of getting a ‘B’ or higher or about a 75 percent chance of obtaining a ‘C’ or higher” in each of the four subjects tested.

A nod to Whitefish which surpassed the state in meeting all four benchmarks. Of the 97 students tested, 37 percent met all the benchmarks. —Janice McCann, Whitefish
