Beulah A. (Bylsma) Erickson, 89

Beulah A. (Bylsma) Erickson “stepped into the presence of Jesus” on Sept. 24, 2015, at age 89.

Beulah was born in Lynden, Washington, to Charles and Nancy Bylsma. She graduated from high school in Seattle at 16, and from Simpson Bible College at 19.

She married Harold Erickson in 1945 and moved to Montana.

She spent her lifetime mentoring women, as well as children’s Bible clubs, and cooking for summer Bible camps and retreats. She loved playing the piano and organ for churches while she lived in Trego, Billings, Savage, Belgrade, Bigfork and Casper, Wyoming.

She offered outstanding support for Harold in startup churches in Trego and Belgrade. She also worked fervently behind the scenes when Harold helped establish Dickey Lake Bible Camp, Yellowstone Alliance Bible Camp, several Christian radio stations and Mountain Top Ministries.

Beulah is survived by six children, Joy and Steve Stumbo, Elaine Erickson, Bruce and Ann Erickson, Marvin and Deb Erickson, Donna and Grant McDowell, and Doris and John Reese; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Jeanne, and Dave Greene; and brother, Bud, and Pattie Bylsma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Percy, Pat, Bernard and Otto.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service in Bozeman. A committal service and interment will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Bigfork Community Cemetery in Bigfork.
