The Whitefish Police Department took several calls about a suspicious and threatening man, first from various people and businesses on Central Avenue and later from someone on Spokane Avenue. The man was allegedly approaching people and telling them “today is a good day to die.” Officers made contact with the man and advised him to stay away from the downtown area.

A Somers Avenue resident called police after discovering a vehicle had hit the light pole in front of her house, knocking it over onto the sidewalk and yard.

A caller on Central Avenue said an RV had parked illegally in front of a business — horizontal over at least five vertical spaces and into a yellow curb area — in addition to being there for several hours when all the spaces had two-hour limits. Officers ticketed the offending vehicle.

A Cedar Street resident reported two dogs barking loudly for at least an hour in a nearby neighborhood. Officers made contact with the dog owners, who agreed to take the animal inside for the night.

Officers made an arrest following a physical fight in front of a Central Avenue business. At least one person involved in the altercation ended up at the hospital.

Another caller on Central Avenue told police an unknown man had been found sleeping in his vehicle when he went to leave for the night. The unwelcome sleeper allegedly refused to leave the vehicle, and so the caller and his friends physically removed him and “left him laying in the middle of the street.” The caller said he thought the man was very intoxicated, and wanted officers to check on him. Officers were unable to locate the sleepy trespasser.

A driver called police when a naked man was spotted on Railway Street. Officers arrested the nude suspect for indecent exposure.
