David Andrew Frisnegger, 57

| August 8, 2016 8:06 PM

On July 15, 2016, at Dave’s Tucson home, the excessive heat blazed physically while a symbolic thunderstorm brewed spiritually in Western Montana, both coinciding with his death.

Dave was born on Sept. 30, 1958, in Great Falls. Nine years later he and his family moved to Kalispell, where Dave graduated from Flathead High in 1976. He then attended Montana Tech in Butte and the University of Montana in Missoula earning Bachelor of Geology and a Bachelor of Secondary Science degrees.

In 1982 Dave embarked on a career in geology which allowed him to travel the globe: Guatemala, Brazil, the Amazon River Basin, the Congo and Gabon in Africa, the Arctic Ocean, the Beaufort Sea, Chukchi Sea and the Aleutians. In 1992 Dave moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and worked on the North Slope, Nome, the Yukon River, the Kenai Peninsula and Seward.

It was in Anchorage where he met and fell in love with Anna Ford. They married in 1997, ?nally moving to Tucson in 2013.

The world lost one of its most gentle giants when Dave died. His demeanor was most often quiet, his disposition forever positive, his soul deeply compassionate, his company irreplaceable and his deep love of humans and all creatures unsurpassable. He welcomed all of us.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Donna Frisnegger, and his sister, Paula Horner. His death was followed by the sudden and unexpected death of his wife Anna four days later.

He is survived by his sisters Kathy Solberg of Missoula and Gail Parrish of Kalispell, and his brother Dan Frisnegger of Sandy, Utah. Dave also left behind nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Dave’s remarkable life and glorious soul will be held privately on the autumnal equinox of this year.
