LAW ROUNDUP: Parking dispute settled after counseling

A store manager on Hutton Ranch Road told Kalispell Police Department that a dispute arose when a woman allegedly pulled in front of a man to park in a handicapped spot. She reportedly didn’t have a handicap placard visible. The manager said the man then pulled in behind the woman’s vehicle, blocking it, waiting for the woman to come back out of the store. All parties were counseled and the woman did qualify to park in a handicapped spot after all.

A woman jumped into a vehicle and the driver was “unable to get her out.” The driver took the woman to a grocery store and later told officers the woman was acting strange and talking to herself.

Two women were reportedly seen pulling each other’s hair and yelling on Claremont Street.

Someone on Second Street East reported that six young people were getting on the roof of City Hall.

People were advised to stay off a building property while playing Pokemon Go on First Avenue East and Third Street East.

A woman told police she believed that someone was living behind her house on Seventh Avenue West. She reportedly saw a “large female and male” leaving with a small yellow dog.

Someone on Liberty Street was not sure if a man near a van was either working on the vehicle, breaking into it or siphoning gas.

Someone on Claremont Street and Conway Drive was concerned when construction workers reportedly blocked a fire hydrant.

Someone was spotted sleeping in a van on Third Avenue West.

A couple on Burns Way told police they found and picked up a dog in the middle of the highway and said another dog ran off. The dog the couple rescued did not have a microchip or tags and was impounded at a shelter.

A father was allegedly seen yelling at a child, pulling the child out of a vehicle and then starting to drive away on U.S. 93 South and Kelly Road. The man reportedly returned and hugged the child and both got into the vehicle. It turns out the father was “counseling” a 9-year-old who was arguing with a 12-year-old.


Kalispell Police assisted Montana Highway Patrol at two accidents involving four vehicles on West Reserve Drive and U.S. 93 North that resulted in at least one person with a minor laceration to the head.


Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of someone with a stab wound on U.S. 2.

Someone was concerned that a motorcycle with a missing front fender seen on the side of the road on Snowshoe and Hogan Drive may have been involved in an accident.

Someone reportedly drove off without paying for gas.

Someone reported a window was broken out of their vehicle while parked on Louisiana Avenue.
