LAW ROUNDUP: Fire set in Kalispell Chamber bathroom

| August 11, 2016 7:30 PM

Kalispell Fire Department responded to a fire in the men’s bathroom at the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Smoke was coming out of the bathroom when firefighters arrived at the scene, Kalispell Fire Chief Dave Dedman said.

“It was a pretty small, but smoky fire.”

The fire was set intentionally, according to Dedman.

“Someone intentionally set some toilet paper and some paper towels on fire, which in turn caught the wall on fire,” he said.

An investigation has been completed; however, there aren’t any suspects at this time.

Dedman said there was a fair amount of damage to the wall, but the structural integrity was fine.

The bathroom facility is closed until further notice.
