Flathead, Glacier golfers well off the pace at Great Falls Invitational

GREAT FALLS — Golfers from Flathead and Glacier are well of the pace in the season-opening Great Falls Invitational on Monday at Meadow Lark Country Club.

The Flathead girls are in sixth place with a 406 total. Bozeman leads with a 323 score, followed by Billings West, 361, and Butte, 392. They are the only teams to score under 400.

Becca Knutson had the best individual effort for Flathead, tied for 17th place with a 93.

Kameryn Basye of Bozeman leads with a 74. Hannah Rosenova of Bozeman is next with a 79.

The Glacier girls did not field a full team, but were led by McKenna Tinseth, who shot a 90. That had her in 14th place.

In boys play, Flathead is tied for ninth with Billings West. Both have 344 totals.

Glacier is three shots back in the 11th spot.

Great Falls High tops the field with a 291 score. Billings West is three shots back.

Nick Weaver of Flathead and Brayden Aurich of Glacier both shot 83, which puts them in a five-way tie for 30th place.

The individual leader is Rylan Periman of Great Falls High with a 71. Joey Moore and Caleb Trost, both of West, are a shot back.

Plays winds up today at Eagle Falls Golf Course starting at 8:30 a.m.

Butte Central Invitational

BUTTE — Polson’s Carson McDaniels and Trey Kelley both shot 79 to finish in a four-way tie for sixth place on Monday at Highland View Golf Course. Par was 70.

Max Toenjes of Hamilton, Tyge Yelenich of Butte Central and Elijah Baker of Belgrade all shot 74 to tie for first.

The Bozeman JV with a 316 total edged Butte Central by three shots for the team title, Polson, 332, was fourth.

On the girls side, Kiyara McCue of Polson shot 95 to finish fifth. Courtney Ockler of Frenchtown was the medalist with an 86.

The Bozeman JV won the girls team title with a 404 score. Polson and Dillon tied for second with 438s.
