Hilemans, Young help Whitefish girls lead golf tourney
MISSOULA — Holly Hileman shot 89 and Hayley Hileman and Gracie Young both carded 91s to help the Whitefish girls take the team lead at the Missoula County Invitational golf tournament on Monday afternoon at the Missoula Country Club.
The Whitefish girls marked a 377 total, one stroke better than Missoula Sentinel.
Sentinel’s Sydnee Nowlen carded an 85 to top the individual leader board.
Holly Hileman is tied for second with Emily Garden of Helena and Sara Mitchell of Sentinel.
Hayley Hileman and Young are tied for sixth place with Sev Armstrong of Helena.
The Glacier girls are third (411), led by McKenna Tinseth, who is 10th with a 98.
Flathead’s girls are fourth (413). Becca Knutson had the best round for the Bravettes with a 96. That’s good for ninth place.
Polson is sixth (463). The Pirates did not have a girl in the top 10 individually.
The Polson boys with a 331 score are holding down third place. Sentinel leads (308) with Hamilton second (324).
Glacier (348) is fourth, Flathead (355) sixth and Whitefish (391) seventh.
Jack Johnston of Sentinel fired a 73 to hold a one shot lead on Max Toenes of Hamilton. Sean Ramsbacher of Sentinel is third (75).
Trey Kelley of Polson is fifth (78) while Carson McDaniel of Polson, Brendan Buls of Whitefish and AJ Grande of Glaciers are tied for sixth with 79s.
Brayden Aurich of Glacier and Rielly Manger of Flathead are in a five-way tie for ninth with 80s.
The tournament winds up today with play at Larchmont.
