Lakeside man dies from bee sting

A Lakeside man died from an allergic reaction to a bee sting Sunday evening. After getting stung on the lip, the 66-year-old man called 911 for help. Flathead County sheriff’s deputies and medical emergency responders rushed to the scene, but during the phone call the man became unresponsive.

Officers found the owner of a large desert tortoise after a confused caller found the reptile in a yard.

A church in Martin City reported criminal mischief when someone allegedly shot BB guns at the building’s windows.

A Coram resident said a man stole a car’s license plate and allegedly attacked the victim with an ax and hammer.

A Whitefish resident reported someone cut the strings off his new brass wind chime.

Officers arrested a man in Coram who threatened to use a large chain to break out the car windows of a man with whom he was in an argument. When officers put the man in a patrol car to review his history and discovered he had warrants for his arrest, the suspect allegedly struck his head against the cage.


Whitefish Police investigated why a vehicle reported as “suspicious” would park in a hotel parking lot with its lights on for several hours three nights in a row. Police discovered a man was visiting a woman a couple of hours each night.


Columbia Falls Police provided extra patrol on Seventh Street after someone reported a man had approached a young girl as she played in the backyard. According to the report, the man was “staring at her as he rode his bike down the road.” When the man came closer to the backyard, the girl ran inside.
