Kids with bat mistake car for ball

Kalispell Police Department received a report that kids were allegedly “taking a baseball bat” to a car, which reportedly had been left on Santa Fe Street for more than a month.

Someone on West Oregon Street reported being assaulted by a woman, who also stole some firearms.

Two men have allegedly been harassing a woman at the library “every morning,” calling her names and making gun noises.

A man riding on a lawnmower allegedly pulled out into the street in front of a man who was driving by and then reportedly did the same thing to another car.

An employee on East Idaho Street requested extra patrol because there was reportedly a problem with transients sleeping in business vehicles.

A man allegedly pulled a gun on someone’s husband on U.S. 2 West. The man was reportedly “making faces” at the husband. When the husband confronted the man, the gun was allegedly brandished.

An employee said a suspicious couple had a credit card declined when trying to rent a room and thought the pair may be on the “hotel black list.”

People were allegedly putting unknown items in bushes on First Avenue West North.

A woman who was sleeping said she woke up to find a man, who appeared “very intoxicated,” standing in her kitchen.

A bag of needles were reportedly found in a restroom on West Idaho Street.

Someone on East Idaho Street reported finding syringes in the grass.


Someone on Fourth Avenue South in Hungry Horse told Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that someone allegedly shot out of the window of a company truck.

A Lakeside resident said a man pointed a gun at her husband out in the street. The man with the gun had reportedly hit a fawn, and her husband confronted him about driving too fast, saying he could have avoided the deer. The man allegedly then picked up the deer and put it in the back of a truck and the men continued yelling and screaming at each other.

A fifth-wheel was seen parked near a bridge over the Flathead River for about five days. The caller believed someone was living in it. The owner was advised to get the vehicle moved by the end of the day.

A naked teenager was spotted on Park Avenue in Evergreen and reportedly had been there for 20 minutes. Officers contacted the boy, who said he was “doing this as a joke,” admitted to “streaking” in his yard as a prank and was “very apologetic.” The person who reported the incident said he or she did so out of a concern for the boy’s mental health.

A Lakeside woman was allegedly stomping around and banging on a wall in an apartment complex.

A row of mailboxes were reported damaged on George Lane in Columbia Falls.

Someone from the fashion police reported seeing an older man walking out of the woods in Columbia Falls wearing a dress and high heels. The real officers said there is no law against cross-dressing.

A Kalispell woman said a neighbor pointed a gun at her and she wasn’t sure why.

A man driving a red vehicle was allegedly driving more than 40 mph on 11th Street East in Kalispell, almost hitting a group of pedestrians.

Someone on Columbia Falls Stage Road in Columbia Falls was concerned for a dog that was reportedly tied to a boat. The person told police that the dog had been there for three weeks. The dog’s owner was given a verbal warning and advised that the dog needed shelter other than shade from the boat.

A mountain bike valued at $4,000 was reported stolen on Winter Loop Lane in Whitefish. The bike is black and lime green in color with custom parts.

Someone was concerned about the welfare of an older, barefoot woman seen standing in the middle of the road on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.


An employee on Columbia Avenue told Whitefish Police Department that some “unruly guests” allegedly refused to leave after being asked multiple times. The guests reportedly “ransacked” a garage area.

A property manager on Lupfer Avenue said transients were reportedly camping out on a balcony.

A woman on U.S. 93 South reportedly had an intoxicated man sleeping under her bushes.

A passerby told police he or she saw a “dirty-looking” man on Central Avenue who punched a dog on the head and cursed at it. The man was with another person and the pair were also reported as being “aggressive verbally.” This apparently was the second caller to report the rapscallions.

Eight panhandlers on Central Avenue reportedly asked a passerby multiple times for more money. The panhandlers were advised not to harass people; however, due to a lack of a panhandling ordinance, they are allowed to continue asking people for money.
