| August 28, 2016 6:30 AM

Vivian Mardell (Garbe) Malson, 89, “went home to be with her Lord and savior” on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016.

She was born June 23, 1927, in Ebenezer, Saskatchewan. At age 16, Vivian married Harold at Knox United Church in Calgary, Alberta, on Dec. 15, 1943. They shared 61 years together as sweethearts, moving from Canada to California and finally settling in the Flathead Valley.

Vivian loved painting, dancing, gardening, quilting and, most of all, family and friends. She had a soft spot for animals and never met a stranger. She was a member of the local square dance club, Good Sam Club and Northridge Heights Church of God.

Vivian is survived by her daughter, Darlene Scott, and her husband Charles, of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren, Heidi Scott-Bethards of Kalispell, Brandi Scott-Hoy of McKinney, Texas, Charlie Scott of Dallas, and Anthony Scott of Addison, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Emerson, Falyn and Charles.

Harold preceded her in death, along with her parents, sister and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday Aug. 31, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Larry Lautarat will be officiating and burial will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens. There will be a celebration of life at Homewood Suites by Hilton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Flathead County Animal Shelter.
