Evelyn Chase Maddux, 98

Evelyn Chase Maddux was born to Fred and Shirley Chase on April 8,1918, in Whitefish, where she spent her life.

In 1936 she married Roger Maddux. They had three children, Shirley, Janice and Dick.

She passed away on Aug. 27, 2016.

Evelyn was 13 when her mother passed away, and she and her sister Arlene and brother Earl were raised by their grandfather Fred Warner.

Evelyn and Roger were active members of Mountain Trails Saddle Club for many years, where she helped organize the Gala Days parade for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, her husband Roger in 1995, son Dick in 1993, and grandson John Roger in 1979.

She is survived by her two daughters, Shirley and Janice; daughter-in-law, Donna Maddux; two granddaughters, Anita and Angela, grandchildren Megan, Chase and Brody, and Rhu and Angus; great-grandson, Cormack; very special cousin, Jack Harris and his wife Willo, their children, Wanda and Time; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, at Whitefish Cemetery.
