Sidney W. Golie

Sidney W. Golie, 77, passed away Dec. 1, 2016, at his home in Whitefish.

He was born to Martha (Fuhrer) and Arthur Golie in Havre. He spent the majority of his life in Whitefish while working for the railroad. He married Barbara, the love of his life, in 1958 and raised five children.

Sidney spent the later part of his life dedicated to the care of Barb and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed taking her for a drive every day and stopping at the Eagles where he told stories of his many past adventures and the dreams of new ones.

He is survived by his wife; five children, Randy, Sherrie, Kim, Marcie and Candi. His grandchildren, Cody, Justin, Barbi, Jason, Jenny, Ben, Sid, Renee, Rebecca, Jessica, Noah, Kyle, Zach, and Ashley. We would love to list all the grandkids and friends, but that would have taken hours to write.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, and youngest daughterb Cindy Sue.

Per Sid’s request, he would like for you to remember to hug your loved ones and join his family for a service at Austin’s funeral home, Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. then for a celebration of life at the Eagles in Columbia Falls.

A celebration of life will follow services at the Eagles in Columbia Falls, with military honors given at 3:30 p.m.
