Group of ruffians loose in downtown Kalispell

Kalispell Police were unable to locate a group of kids in downtown Kalispell who reportedly were trying to fight with strangers. A downtown business employee approached the youths before calling and the apparent leader, described as wearing a bandanna and a tank top, swung at the caller. Another person called about the same rowdy group, which apparently had chased the second caller for a few blocks. Neither caller wished to pursue charges after police were unable to locate the hooligans.

A resident asked Kalispell law enforcement to remove a black suburban without license plates that had been parked in front of her house since Sunday.

Someone found a woman’s wallet near the North Kalispell shopping district.

A South Kalispell business employee reported a shoplifter had been caught and was currently requiring four men to keep him detained. The caller told dispatch the man had $255 worth of stolen gun parts on him during the apprehension. Dispatch confirmed the man had an outstanding warrant from another Montana county.

A woman gave police a recording of a man threatening to “destroy her home.”

A driver was concerned that a teenage driver drifting on icy roads would collide with another vehicle.

Someone destroyed a Kalispell resident’s room and stole the resident’s television.

Someone stole tools from a construction site in North Kalispell.

A Kalispell resident reported hearing one gun shot in city limits.

Columbia Falls Police were unable to locate a man who reportedly tried to break into a woman’s vehicle in her garage. The woman told dispatch that she chased the man from her property when she found him in her garage, but was unable to catch him.

A Columbia Falls man received some threatening texts from the boyfriend of a girl he was with earlier that day.

A resident told Whitefish Police about a mountain lion that had been prowling the subdivision for the last two weeks. According to the caller, the animal had been seen six times in two weeks, sometimes approaching people walking their pets in the area. Police advised its officers of the mountain lion, as well as Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.

An intoxicated man was seen falling down with a bottle of wine and trying to kiss passengers near the train station.

A man reportedly made a fake Facebook page using his ex-wife’s name.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of three men and two women all in a bar brawl in Evergreen.

Dispatch received a report of mail being stolen from a county neighborhood.

A county resident near Hungry Horse reported a friend for drinking and driving.

A woman told dispatch her 14-year-old daughter had stolen her credit card and reportedly made 23 transactions totaling $3,800 to max out the card.
