Tourist concerned about safety in Whitefish

A Jewish tourist coming into Whitefish called the Whitefish Police Department and requested to speak with an officer regarding concerns of safety and security. He was advised to contact the FBI.

Someone reported a person lying in the snow at the bus stop near the Ice Den. An ambulance was dispatched and the person was transported to the hospital.

A man called to report having received a phone call from a man who threatened to sue him, reportedly due to a sign in his shop window that says “Love Lives Here.” He was referred to the FBI.

A business in downtown Whitefish called to report that a customer had dropped her credit card in the store.

A business called to report that a woman was allegedly shoplifting in the store. The woman was allegedly seen on video surveillance, but was not taken into custody.

Someone called 911 to report that a man was choking at a bar in Whitefish. The man quit choking, and no medical attention was needed.

A woman called the Columbia Falls Police to report that her boyfriend was trying to take her vehicle. A civil complaint was made regarding ownership of the vehicle. An officer arrived on scene and gave the boyfriend a ride home.

A woman called to report that her boyfriend had allegedly hit a vehicle and then taken off during the Night of Lights Parade. An officer contacted the boyfriend, who claimed that the woman was attempting to get him in trouble as he is on probation. Officers inspected both vehicles, and reported that they did not observe any damages.

An employee at a gas station outside of Columbia Falls called to report that a young man had been in the bathroom for about 30 minutes. The young man was advised of curfew and taken to his home.

Someone called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report a man displaying suspicious behavior. The caller said the man was a “certifiable con artist” who was “working the area.” The man claimed to have dementia and wanted a place stay. The Sheriff’s Office determined that nothing criminal had taken place.

A 911 caller reported that a woman in downtown Kalispell appeared to be on drugs. The woman struggled to stand up, and had very poor coordination.

Someone called the Sheriff’s Office and reported to have received a call from an unknown person who said that someone was keying cars in a parking lot on Third Ave. EN. The caller requested an extra patrol through the area.
